A f/2.5 Prototype in native Exakta mount with name or focal length engravings. Astro-Berlin was famous for fast lenses in the early days, mostly for cine lenses. This lens can be adapted to any medium format mount as well since it covers 6x6cm format easily. Astro-Berlin made alstom only fast lenses or large tele lenses up to 2000mm. Their fastest lenses where the f/0.95 lenses of which you have one for C-Mount. A Tachon if I recall well. They also produced lenses for Leica mount and native Leica screw mount and large aperture tele lenses for use on their special Astro Identoskop reflex housing. Lenses such as 1.8/150mm, 2.3/125mm, 3.5/135mm, 2.3/150mm, etc. The short mount cine lenses where mostly f/1.8 lenses (25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm). The lens is in very good condition with clean optics. Barrel made from aluminium. Two protective caps included. Hard to fins such fast f/2.5 lenses in this focal length which could be used on for medium format cameras.
