Canon S Seiki – Kogaku #11843 w. Nikkor 2/5cm

Like the Canon Hansa this camera carries a Nikkor lens. It was the first Canon camera with slow speeds and still with a pop-up 5cm finder like the Canon Hansa. The Nikkor ist the fastest Nikkor produced at the time. A f/2 5cm Nikkor serial number 50268 (started most likely at 5021 so this is the 68th made). Most camera were sold with f/3.5 version of the Nikkor lens. The focusing mount with serial number 2677. The camera and lens just had a CLA. The lens is interchangeable and could even be used of the very first Canon Hansa models. The camera was made in around 1600 examples accordingly to Peter Dechert from 1938 to 1945 from serial numbers 10520 to approximately 12500. The offered specimen is in very good condition with clean Nikkor 2/5cm and original brown Canon leather case.
