Extremely rare conversion of a Leica model A with calf leather covering into Leica model D. The body shell with small hang-in pin for the bottomplate. Along with the gold-plated Leica Luxus, the Leica cameras with calf leather covering are among the most exclusive variants of the early days. A total of only about 180 pieces of the LEANEKALB were produced, with body cover in different colours. The here offered camera with light brown calf leather covering in unbelievably beautiful, almost like new condition. With nickel Elmar 50 mm f/3.5.
Provenance: Property of a European collector.
Literature: Lars Netopil, "Rare Leica", p. 48ff. (exactly this camera is illustrated).
