This black paint Leica M2 was used by Israeli Magnum photographer Micha Bar-Am. In 1959 and 1960 he received the Robert Capa Award. Since 1968, Micha Bar-Am has worked as an image correspondent for Magnum and as an Israel correspondent and chief photographer for the New York Times, for which he worked until 1992.
Presumably in the 1960s/70s, Leitz reworked it into a black paint version at customers request, which is why some parts from the production of the M4 were also installed. With Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 Nr. 3454635 and UVa filter.
Included: Six modern prints, showing Micha Bar-Am with his black paint Leica M2, each ca. 14,9 x 22,6 cm.
