very early protype of the Summaron 35 with an aperture of 2.8; following a request from Alfred Eisenstaedt to have a 35mm lens with an higher aperture, Leitz manufactured initially 6 lenses with an aperture of 2.8 (1181445-1181450) in 1955; this particular lens has been delivered to New York on July 12, 1955; some small spots in the coating internally, otherwise in like new condition.
