Small batches of Leica M2 and M3 cameras have been assembled in Midland, Ontario, Canada. These were engraved with larger M2 and M3 (and slightly different serial number) engravings than the cameras with top plates engraved in Wetzlar. Out of 76.349 produced M2, only around 1.600,- have been assembled/produced in Canada.
