Leitz Summarit 1:1.4/5 cm Prototyp / Leitz Summarit 5 cm f/1.4 Prototype

Experimental lens for the later Summilux. Extremely rare first version, with unfinished aluminum mount. Distance setting ring with reverse knurling. In February 1958, only 6 specimens of this version with the numbers 0000210 - 0000215 were manufactured for test purposes. Lens in screw mount, with bayonet adapter. Red M touch point added later. Very nice condition with optics reasonably clean. Included: Prototype XIOOM lens hood with straight edges, engraved "Summarit 5 cm 1:1.4". Literature: Lars Netopil "Prototype Leica", p. 440ff.
