Prototype of a collapsible 50 mm Summicron for the Leica CL. Only a few individual experimental units of this lens are known, a serial production did not follow. Interestingly, the version offered here is based on formula C-276 that was used for the Elcan 50 mm f/2 to the Leica KE-7A. The lens head is locked and cannot be retracted, possibly to prevent damage to the swing-out arm with the light meter's CdS cell.
The optics with haze and coating defects.
Provenance: Allen Collection.
