Leningrad Space FAS-1
Rare second type of the specially modified space version Leningrad camera. Developed in the 1960s for the Soviet Soyuz-3 Lunar Space Program. The camera is equipped with a spring-wound motor drive and has no viewfinder. Carried-out in a beautiful gray-blue lacquer finish. Enlarged controls, suitable for use with gloves. Two shutter speeds (1/140 sec. and a bulb mode), operable in mechanical or electrical (remote) release modes. There is a 19-pole plug to connect with board electronics. Round negative format opening in the film gate. Diaphragm-control offering three positions: Full moon at f/11, three quarter moon at f/5.6, half moon at f/2.8.
There are less than ten pieces of this camera version known to exist worldwide. Offered here as a probably unique outfit, with two matching lenses: The standard MIR-1 1:2.8/37 mm lens No. 6702541, engraved “GRAND PRIX Brussels 1958” with red front cap; plus the rare telephoto CH-25 1:2/100 mm lens No. 610089 with two red lens caps. All in fitted outfit case with matching body number.
All components in very beautiful condition. A rare opportunity to own a true piece of human space exploration history. Historically significant!
