Only five unique OM-1 bodies were designed for the NASA and supplied to the Goddard Space Flight Centre for the Space Shuttle Missions. These all-black cameras were finished with non-flammable and low-outgassing paints and lubricants. Three of these cameras were delivered to Goddard. Two stayed with Ponder & Best company, the original marketer and distributor for Olympus Photoproducts in the U.S., who had the Olympus factory modify 5 OM bodies on NASA's order. The camera we have the pleasure to offer is one of the two examples that left with P&B. It comes with a special grip in matching finish and matching boxes. Provenance: ex S&B employee.
