he provenance is very interesting. The Spy Camera Museum New York. Liquidated last year as they had to close due to the corona virus. Included are both original black information cards from the Spy camera Museum. The UFA wasn't produced in UFA. The name means "Универсальный ФотоАппарат - Universal Foto Apparat) and the camera was created bei OOT (Отдел оперативной техники Department of operational equipment of the 1st Main Directorate of the Ministry of State Security of the USSR, Moscow). There is one UFA camera for document copy with a finder and a distance setting from 0.4 to 0.7m as well. I only know of 4-5 cameras in total. It is equipped with a f/2.7 20mm lens. Releasing the electric release also cocks the shutter and advances the film, the camera is thus always ready to take a picture. Release cord end stored in a Zenit film canister. It was made to be used in concealed devices. The „UR“-model of the Ajax MF-1 and F-21, F25 and F27 cameras. Literature: Jean-Loupe Princelle, „MADE IN USSR THE AUTHENTIC GUIDE TO RUSSIAN AND SOVIET CAMERAS, Second Edition, p. 192. The camera is the peak of soviet spy cameras for concealed photography. It still carries the Museum inventory sticker on the base plate.
